CHS class of '65 - 40th Reunion
Feedback

The class of 1965 held it’s 40th reunion at Chateau Provost in Chicopee on November 12th. We had a terrific band, a photographer, a meal and generally a good time. People stayed up way past their bedtime and whooped it up-or so I was told. I’ve attached a bunch of candid photos for those of you who might have missed the shindig and are curious about the aging process of your classmates. (Please note that Joanne Radwonski and Bobby Bordeau must have hired stand-ins for themselves, because they look exactly like they did on graduation day.)

At a recent meeting of the reunion committee, it was agreed to hold a 45th reunion in 2010. We’ll be in touch with all of you once plans get underway. Betty Cinq-Mars <betty_cinq-mars@ml.com> continues to keep track of everyone’s address, so be sure to keep her apprised of any changes in yours.

Editorial note: The reunion committee has always advocated for an all-inclusive plan for the reunion-one that would enable as many classmates as possible to attend. To insure it was affordable, we have consistently charged less money than it takes to put the thing on. We adjust schedules so that out-of-town folks can attend. That we even have reunions comes as a surprise to just about everybody I know: most classes have never held a reunion at all. In the run-up to the 40th, I personally spent 3 evenings hand-delivering 44 invitations to classmates in the Chicopee area who had never come to a reunion in the past. The total result of that effort was zero-not one of the 44 attended.

I’m a slow learner, but I’ve finally reached the conclusion that some people just don’t want anything to do with seeing the rest of us again. That said, let’s be sure that those of us who actually do want to stay in touch enjoy getting together every five years. I hope to see you in 2010.
