Is Spyware on your Computer?

These apps, often installed without your knowledge, send information about your surfing habits to ad companies, which, in turn, send you more pop-up ads--about as much fun as getting telemarketing phone calls during dinner.  Pop-Up computer Ad's Bugging You?
Chicopee (Jan 20, 2006) - The marketing types at Harvard School of Business must be laughing all the way to the bank. Computer users worldwide assume that they have to look at and then close those annoying pop-up windows while surfing the internet. Less then 1% of all users have done anything about it. There are dozens of either Free or very low cost programs which simply stop the pop-up ad from appearing. Team Chicopee is Formed

Chicopee,MA June 2004-Team CHICOPEE has been formed as a volunteer group donating the idle time when your screensaver is running on your computer to perform scientific research. The project was funded by the National Science Foundation and the BOINC software was developed by them. Currently, the research involves the exploration of Black Holes in Space. In the future, as this software program in developed, you will be able to choose which projects, you will donate your research for. Planned projects include Cancer research and other medical research projects.

The entire project is coordinated by the servers at the University of California at Berkley. You can acquire the BOINC software free of charge and establish an account on their servers. Chicopee.com is donating a page to organize all of this information. You can get all the details at http://chicopee.com/boinc as well as join Team CHICOPEE. If there are questions about how to install the software or to join the team, you can contact Dave Culbertson at Custom Computers and you will receive assistance FREE OF CHARGE.
